US Marinas & Boatyards
U.S. Location Dataset // 13,128
13,128 US marinas, boatyards, municipal harbours and yacht clubs with dockage, with a street address on 92%, a phone on 87%, a website on 70% and an email on 54% — attribute coverage that no other marina list comes close to, because most are assembled from mapping data that carries a name and a pin and nothing else. 9,883 of these are attested by a marina operator's own locator, the industry association's member directory or the boating community database that cruisers actually use, rather than resting on map data alone. Beyond contact details it carries 53 columns of operating detail no other marina list publishes: shore power by amperage from 16 up to 200 amp, dock construction (floating, fixed or concrete), maximum length overall and beam, liveaboard permission, approach depth, VHF channel, after-hours contact and dockage rates. Yard capability is broken out individually rather than lumped into one field — haul-out confirmed at 1,725 marinas and pump-out at 2,547, plus mechanical, diesel and gas engine repair, fiberglass, bottom painting, welding, canvas and upholstery, electronics, marine HVAC, propeller repair, sails and rigging, surveyors, towing and salvage. Fuel splits into diesel, gas, propane, ethanol-free and electric instead of a single yes. Amenities cover wifi, laundry, showers, restrooms, restaurant, courtesy car and transportation, and a Clean Marina certification flag comes from nine state programs. Marine equipment and dock manufacturers, fuel distributors, boat OEMs and dealers, marina management software, insurers, and the private equity buyers consolidating marinas all need slip-level detail rather than a pin on a map. One convention worth knowing before you filter: every capability column has four possible answers — yes, no, nearby, and blank — and blank means the source did not record it, never a denial. We do not turn unknowns into noes.
All 13,128 records, as published — the complete set rather than a sample. That matters most for coverage and gap questions: put together the same list from partial searches and every location you miss reads as a gap that is not there, so the answer is wrong rather than merely late. Assembling the U.S.-wide coverage by hand also means one query per area against sources that cap what they return per search.

{}Data Fields
The percentage is how much of the file carries that field, measured on the delivered CSV rather than estimated. 38 of 53 fields are populated on under half the rows (operator, slips, transientSlips, maxLength, maxBeam, approachDepth, …). Every row always carries the identifiers and the full address.

?Frequently Asked Questions
Why 13,128 when the industry says about 11,000 marinas?
Because the definition is wider, deliberately. This includes boatyards, municipal harbours and yacht clubs with dockage alongside commercial marinas, since all of them buy dock hardware, fuel and services. The narrower attested core — sites confirmed by an operator locator, the trade association or the cruising community database — is 9,883, which sits just under the usual estimate. Both numbers are on the record so you can use whichever fits your definition.
How is the attribute coverage so much better than other marina lists?
Because the primary source is the database boaters use to find dockage, which exists to answer questions a mapping database never asks: how many slips, what approach depth, what maximum length, is there fuel, do they take transients. That is why address coverage is 92% and phone 87% rather than the 43% and 16% a map-derived list gives you.
Are boat dealers and launch ramps included?
No. Both were explicitly excluded — 226 ramps, dealers and dry-storage sites were dropped from every source, along with 629 map-only records whose names did not indicate a marina. Padding the count with boat dealers would have been easy and would have made the file useless for anyone selling dock hardware.
