US Fixed-Base Operators (FBOs)
U.S. Location Dataset // 4,023

4,023 fixed-base operators at US airports, with the airport identifier and name, the business name, phone, toll-free number, email, website, fuel brand, posted fuel prices where published, and the airport coordinates. FBOs are the commercial businesses at general aviation airports that sell fuel and provide hangarage, ground handling and passenger services, and there is no federal register of them: the FAA lists airports, not the businesses operating on them. That gap is why this list is hard to assemble and why it is worth having. Fuel suppliers and branded networks, ground support equipment manufacturers, hangar developers, aviation software vendors, charter and fractional operators and aircraft management companies all sell directly into FBOs, and the fuel brand column identifies which supply network each one already belongs to. Contact quality is unusually high for a business dataset, with phone on nearly every record and email on most. Note what is deliberately absent: an FBO is a tenant on an airfield rather than a street address, and the source publishes none, so each operator is located by airport identifier, airport name, city, state and the airport's coordinates — which is how the aviation industry addresses them.

CSVFormat

All 4,023 records, as published — the complete set rather than a sample. That matters most for coverage and gap questions: put together the same list from partial searches and every location you miss reads as a gap that is not there, so the answer is wrong rather than merely late. Assembling the U.S.-wide coverage by hand also means one query per area against sources that cap what they return per search.

?Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there no official list of FBOs?

Because the FAA regulates airports and aircraft, not the businesses operating at them. An FBO is a commercial tenant, so nothing federal enumerates them. The list has to be assembled airport by airport, which is the work you are buying.

What is the fuel brand column?

The branded fuel network the FBO buys through, such as Avfuel, Phillips 66, Shell or Titan. It tells a competing supplier who the incumbent is and tells anyone else which network relationships already exist, which is one of the most commercially useful fields in the file.

Is there a street address for each FBO?

No, and we would rather say so than imply one. An FBO occupies a hangar or terminal on an airfield, so there is no street address to publish and the source does not carry one. Each record is located by its airport identifier, airport name, city, state and the airport coordinates.

Does it cover every airport?

It covers the public-use airports where FBOs actually operate, which is a much smaller set than the roughly 19,000 US aviation facilities — most of those are private strips and heliports with no commercial services at all. We also publish the full FAA airport file separately.
