12,622 urgent care locations across the United States, assembled rather than downloaded, because urgent care has no federal certification and no licensing register of its own. That is precisely why the list is hard to get and worth buying: a clinic that calls itself urgent care may be licensed as a physician practice, a freestanding emergency department or nothing in particular, so there is no authoritative register to pull. Urgent care is one of the most heavily consolidated and franchised parts of outpatient healthcare, with national and regional brands competing alongside hospital-owned and physician-owned sites, and it buys point-of-care diagnostics, imaging, EMR and patient-flow software, staffing, and supplies at high volume. Refreshed weekly.
All 12,622 records, as published — the complete set rather than a sample. That matters most for coverage and gap questions: put together the same list from partial searches and every location you miss reads as a gap that is not there, so the answer is wrong rather than merely late. Assembling the U.S.-wide coverage by hand also means one query per area against sources that cap what they return per search.

?Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there no official source for this?
Because urgent care is not a licensure category in most states and is not federally certified the way hospitals, surgery centers and dialysis facilities are. There is no register to download, so the universe has to be assembled and maintained. That is the whole reason this dataset has value.
Are freestanding emergency departments included?
They are a different thing, licensed and billed differently, and we do not mix them in. Some markets, particularly Texas, have many, and if you need them we can scope that separately.
How complete is it?
It is the most complete urgent care list we can build and refresh, but because there is no register to check against, no one can honestly claim a complete count. We would rather say that than quote a precision the category does not permit.
