2,773 Ford dealerships across the United States, taken from Ford's own dealer locator rather than a third-party aggregator, with street address, phone, website, coordinates and the manufacturer's dealer code. Ford runs one of the two largest franchised networks in the country, and its dealers carry both the retail and the commercial vehicle business, which makes the network unusually important to fleet, upfit and commercial parts suppliers. Franchised networks are consolidating steadily into larger dealer groups, so a current rooftop-level list is the basis for territory design, for parts and accessory suppliers building call lists, and for the finance, insurance, warranty and software vendors that sell into dealer groups. Our count of 2,773 compares with a published network of about 2,900. The dealer code on every record means successive weekly files diff cleanly, so openings and closures are visible rather than inferred.

All 2,773 records, as published — the complete set rather than a sample. That matters most for coverage and gap questions: put together the same list from partial searches and every location you miss reads as a gap that is not there, so the answer is wrong rather than merely late.
