13,600 OEM-certified collision repair centers, merged from eight manufacturer certification programs and the I-CAR Gold Class register, with every certification a shop holds accumulated onto one row. That accumulation is the product: 5,566 of these shops are certified by more than one manufacturer, and 11,556 hold I-CAR Gold Class, which is the industry's training standard. Certification is not marketing — it requires specific welding and measuring equipment, aluminium capability, ongoing technician training and facility investment, so it separates the shops that can repair a modern vehicle from the thousands that cannot. Per-make coverage includes Ford 3,178, Lincoln 3,018, Stellantis 2,929, Hyundai 2,248, Kia 2,091, GM 1,569, Honda and Acura 1,494 each, Subaru 834, Genesis 528, Volvo 393, BMW 388 and Mazda 309. Paint and refinish manufacturers, equipment and tooling suppliers, parts distributors, insurers building direct-repair networks, and the consolidators acquiring shops all qualify on exactly these credentials.

All 13,600 records, as published — the complete set rather than a sample. That matters most for coverage and gap questions: put together the same list from partial searches and every location you miss reads as a gap that is not there, so the answer is wrong rather than merely late. Assembling the U.S.-wide coverage by hand also means one query per area against sources that cap what they return per search.
