This is the complete licensed universe of general and building contractors in California, not a directory of the ones who chose to be listed: every active license the California Contractors State License Board publishes in its public extract, reduced to one row per licensed firm or individual at an address. 92,388 records. Classifications in the file: B (68,355), A (5,091), A | B (2,677), B | C33 (1,592). 1,088 licensees list an out-of-state address (contractors licensed in California but based elsewhere); the state column identifies them so they are one filter to drop. Each record carries the state license number, so it joins cleanly to permit data, insurance certificates and other state files, and the expiration date, so you can target renewals. Buyers use it for distributor and manufacturer territory planning, dealer-program recruitment, insurance and financing prospecting, and roll-up sourcing in a fragmented trade.
