38,128 US veterinary clinics and animal hospitals with street address, phone, website and coordinates, plus the corporate group operating the location where it belongs to one. That corporate column is the reason to buy this rather than scrape a directory: veterinary medicine has been consolidating faster than almost any healthcare sector, and knowing which clinics are already owned by Mars Veterinary Health, Thrive or another group tells you immediately whether purchasing runs through a head office or through the practice owner. The file identifies 2,995 clinics under named corporate groups — Banfield and VCA under Mars, plus National Veterinary Associates and Thrive — and leaves everything else unbranded. Treat unbranded as an owner we have not identified rather than as proof of independence: corporate ownership is proven here from each operator's own hospital list, so a group we have not yet mapped simply does not appear. Animal health pharmaceutical companies, distributors, equipment and diagnostics manufacturers, practice management software vendors, staffing agencies, and the private equity buyers still acquiring practices all segment exactly this way. State veterinary boards license veterinarians rather than clinics, so no register of practices exists and this has to be assembled. It is also cleaned, which matters more than the headline number: an audit removed 1,783 retail pop-up vaccination clinics that mapping data files as veterinarians — 966 of them shared a single call-center phone number, because they are vaccination events held inside pet stores rather than practices — plus 879 groomers, boarding kennels, shelters and trainers, and 425 duplicates caused by a merge defect. Equine and large-animal practices, mobile and house-call vets, and full veterinary hospitals inside retailers were all deliberately kept.

## The figures

- Records: 38,128 locations (38,088 US)
- States: 52
- Coverage: U.S.
- Fields: 21
- Price: $89 one-time, CSV download, commercial license (https://locationlists.com/license)
- File built on September 14, 2026. Rebuilt weekly on an automatic schedule.
- File last modified: 2026-09-14

The file has all 38,128 locations across 52 states in one download. Building the same list by searching one area at a time tends to miss places, and a missed place looks like a gap in coverage that is not really there.

## Questions

### Why is there no official list of veterinary clinics?

Because state boards license individual veterinarians, not the premises. A handful of states register clinic facilities separately, but most do not, so there is no register to download and the practice-level universe has to be built. That is what makes this list worth buying rather than reproducing.

### How complete is the corporate group column?

It identifies the clinics we could positively attribute to a named group, 2,995 of them, drawn from the corporate operators' own locators. Corporate ownership is often deliberately invisible at the clinic level, with acquired practices keeping their original names, so treat a blank as unattributed rather than as proof of independence.

### Does it include an accreditation flag?

Not in this release. The accreditation source did not return usable data, so rather than ship a column that reads false on every row and looks like a signal, we have left the claim off. If accreditation matters to you, tell us and we will scope it properly.

### How is this data cleaned?

Every rebuild runs the same steps and counts what each one changed. For the current file, rebuilt September 14, 2026 from docs.overturemaps.org: Merged 0 duplicate listings that had the same business name, street address and ZIP code, keeping every filled-in detail from both (September 14, 2026). Unified 572 city names written more than one way within the same ZIP code (for example with and without a space or an abbreviation) to the US Census Bureau spelling (September 14, 2026). Corrected 3 misspelled city names to the US Census Bureau place name for their ZIP code (September 14, 2026). Removed the second copy of 1 street addresses that were typed twice in the same field (September 14, 2026). Added map coordinates to 1 listings that had none, from the US Census Bureau address geocoder or, where the street address could not be matched, the centre of the ZIP code (September 14, 2026). Set the county and its federal county code on 38,115 listings, matched to the US Census Bureau county list from the county the source records, the listing's map point, or its ZIP code area (September 14, 2026). Checked every map point against the state in its address and re-placed 11 points that fell outside that state (September 14, 2026). Flagged 354 addresses that are incomplete, a PO box, or missing a house number, in an address quality column (September 14, 2026). Checked that the row count, state count and field completeness published for this file were measured from the file itself (September 14, 2026).

### Isn't this free on docs.overturemaps.org?

The underlying records are public on docs.overturemaps.org. What you pay for is the work between that public release and this file: unified 572 city spellings, corrected 3 misspelled city names, fixed 1 doubled addresses, added coordinates to 1 listings, added the county to 38,115 listings, re-placed 11 misplaced map points, flagged 354 incomplete addresses and measured 38,128 rows, and a fresh rebuild every week. The current file was rebuilt September 14, 2026 from docs.overturemaps.org. Doing it yourself means downloading the full release, repeating each of those steps, and repeating them again every time the source updates.

### How complete is each field?

Measured on every row of the current file, the share of rows that carry each key field: phone 99%, website 92%, street address 100%, city 100%, state 100%, ZIP code 100%, latitude 100%, longitude 100%. 20 of 22 columns are filled on at least half the rows, and 1 is empty in every row.
