21,482 facilities that filed Toxics Release Inventory reports for 2024, read on 26 October 2026 from EPA's TRI basic files and its TRI facility table. TRI covers plants in manufacturing, mining, power, chemical distribution and waste that handle listed chemicals above set amounts. Chemicals has 3,393 facilities, Fabricated Metals 2,836 and Nonmetallic Mineral Product 2,626. Texas has 1,950, Ohio 1,269 and California 1,075. Every row has the public contact the facility names on its TRI form, with phone (21,474) and email (21,425). 17,878 rows name a parent company and 4,112 a foreign parent. Each row lists the chemicals reported and the releases by medium in pounds. It also gives the change from 2023. EPA's own map point is on 21,482 rows. 3,550 facilities sit in a Section 232 sector by NAICS code, such as timber and lumber, autos and parts, steel or aluminum.

## The figures

- Records: 21,482 locations (21,481 US)
- States: 52
- Coverage: U.S.
- Fields: 70
- Price: $69 one-time, CSV download, commercial license (https://locationlists.com/license)
- Snapshot built on October 26, 2026. Not rebuilt on a schedule.
- File last modified: 2026-10-26

The file has all 21,482 locations across 52 states in one download. Building the same list by searching one area at a time tends to miss places, and a missed place looks like a gap in coverage that is not really there.

## What we did to this data

Unified 370 city spellings, corrected 1 misspelled city names, added the county to 21,460 listings, re-placed 5 misplaced map points, flagged 576 incomplete addresses and measured 21,482 rows. Rebuilt October 26, 2026 from enviro.epa.gov.

## How complete the key fields are

street address 100%, city 100%, state 100%, ZIP code 100%, latitude 100%, longitude 100%. 58 of 73 columns are filled on at least half the rows.

## Questions

### Which facilities are in it?

Every facility that filed TRI reports for 2024, the latest TRI year, as of EPA's files on 26 October 2026. A facility files when it is in a covered industry and has 10 or more full-time staff. It must also make, process or use a listed chemical above the TRI thresholds. Facilities that stopped reporting before 2024 are not in this list.

### Who is the contact?

The public contact is the person the facility names on its TRI form, with phone and email. A company can name one environmental manager for many plants. The commonest email covers 130 rows, and the 21,425 emails are 14,816 different addresses.

### What do the release columns mean?

They are the facility's 2024 TRI figures in pounds, summed over its chemicals. On-site releases go to air, water, underground injection or land. Off-site releases are transfers for disposal. Dioxins are reported in grams, so they are in their own column and not in the pound totals.

### How current is the data?

Snapshot built on October 26, 2026. It is a one-time snapshot and is not rebuilt on a schedule.

### How is this data cleaned?

Every rebuild runs the same steps and counts what each one changed. For the current file, rebuilt October 26, 2026 from enviro.epa.gov: Merged 0 duplicate listings that had the same business name, street address and ZIP code, keeping every filled-in detail from both (October 26, 2026). Unified 370 city names written more than one way within the same ZIP code (for example with and without a space or an abbreviation) to the US Census Bureau spelling (October 26, 2026). Corrected 1 misspelled city names to the US Census Bureau place name for their ZIP code (October 26, 2026). Added map coordinates to 0 listings that had none, from the US Census Bureau address geocoder or, where the street address could not be matched, the centre of the ZIP code (October 26, 2026). Set the county and its federal county code on 21,460 listings, matched to the US Census Bureau county list from the county the source records, the listing's map point, or its ZIP code area (October 26, 2026). Checked every map point against the state in its address and re-placed 5 points that fell outside that state (October 26, 2026). Flagged 576 addresses that are incomplete, a PO box, or missing a house number, in an address quality column (October 26, 2026). Checked that the row count, state count and field completeness published for this file were measured from the file itself (October 26, 2026).

### Isn't this free on enviro.epa.gov?

The underlying records are public on enviro.epa.gov. What you pay for is the work between that public release and this file: unified 370 city spellings, corrected 1 misspelled city names, added the county to 21,460 listings, re-placed 5 misplaced map points, flagged 576 incomplete addresses and measured 21,482 rows. The current file was rebuilt October 26, 2026 from enviro.epa.gov. Doing it yourself means downloading the full release, repeating each of those steps, and repeating them again every time the source updates.

### How complete is each field?

Measured on every row of the current file, the share of rows that carry each key field: street address 100%, city 100%, state 100%, ZIP code 100%, latitude 100%, longitude 100%. 58 of 73 columns are filled on at least half the rows.
