### Why are there so many company names?

The Chefs' Warehouse keeps the specialty distributors it has bought under their original names, and lists them on its own website that way. The parentCompany column is The Chefs' Warehouse on every row; operatingBrand is the name the facility trades under, so you can see the whole group or any one business in it.

### Does it cover Canada and the Middle East?

Canada, yes: Calgary, Mississauga and Richmond, British Columbia. The company also lists operations in the Middle East on the same pages; those are outside North America and are not included.

### How are the coordinates set?

The Chefs' Warehouse does not publish map pins, so each facility is placed from its street address. Most are matched by the US Census geocoder; Canadian facilities and addresses the Census cannot match use another address-level geocoder, and the coordSource column names which one placed each row.
