Every licensed cosmetology and barbering establishment in Texas — 71,198 of them — from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's own daily extract, with the street address, phone, county, license number and expiry for each. The establishmentType column splits the file into the eight license classes Texas issues: Full Service 35,544, Mini 21,472, Nail and Skin Care 7,647, Skin Care 4,806, Nail 848, Eyelash Extension 648, Mobile 147 and Hair Weaving 86. That breakdown is the reason to buy this rather than scrape a review site: a nail-product distributor wants the 8,495 nail and combination establishments, not all 71,000. Beauty and barber distributors, POS and booking software vendors, insurers and franchise developers use it for territory planning and prospecting, and the license expiry column identifies establishments coming up for renewal.

## The figures

- Records: 70,251 locations
- States: 16
- Coverage: partial U.S.: 16 states
- Fields: 25
- Price: $119 one-time, CSV download, commercial license (https://locationlists.com/license)
- File built on October 18, 2026. Rebuilt weekly on an automatic schedule.
- File last modified: 2026-10-18

The file has all 70,251 locations across 16 states in one download. Building the same list by searching one area at a time tends to miss places, and a missed place looks like a gap in coverage that is not really there.

## Questions

### Why 71,198 when Texas reports about 35,000 salons?

35,544 is the Full Service establishment class alone. This file is the union of all eight establishment license types, each labeled in the establishmentType column, so you can take just Full Service if that is what you want, or include the mini salons, nail-only, skin-care-only, eyelash and mobile establishments that make up the rest of the industry.

### Are barbershops included?

Yes, but through the modern license classes rather than a separate barbershop file. Texas's dedicated barber-shop extract now returns no records because barbershops license as Full Service or Mini establishments, and those are in here. The legacy barber rows in the state's roll-up file carry no address at all, so including them would have added names without locations.

### Is every record a business rather than an individual stylist?

Yes. These are establishment licenses, which are issued to the shop, not the operator licenses issued to individual cosmetologists and barbers. Every one of the 70,251 rows carries a business address.

### How is this data cleaned?

Every rebuild runs the same steps and counts what each one changed. For the current file, rebuilt October 18, 2026 from tdlr.texas.gov: Merged 0 duplicate listings that had the same business name, street address and ZIP code, keeping every filled-in detail from both (October 18, 2026). Unified 395 city names written more than one way within the same ZIP code (for example with and without a space or an abbreviation) to the US Census Bureau spelling (October 18, 2026). Corrected 405 misspelled city names to the US Census Bureau place name for their ZIP code (October 18, 2026). Shortened 7,528 ZIP codes to the five-digit code every address filter expects, keeping the delivery-route segment in a column of its own (October 18, 2026). Removed the second copy of 43 street addresses that were typed twice in the same field (October 18, 2026). Added map coordinates to 70,240 listings that had none, from the US Census Bureau address geocoder or, where the street address could not be matched, the centre of the ZIP code (October 18, 2026). Set the county and its federal county code on 58,955 listings, matched to the US Census Bureau county list from the county the source records, the listing's map point, or its ZIP code area (October 18, 2026). Checked every map point against the state in its address and re-placed 0 points that fell outside that state (October 18, 2026). Flagged 204 addresses that are incomplete, a PO box, or missing a house number, in an address quality column (October 18, 2026). Checked that the row count, state count and field completeness published for this file were measured from the file itself (October 18, 2026).

### Isn't this free on tdlr.texas.gov?

The underlying records are public on tdlr.texas.gov. What you pay for is the work between that public release and this file: unified 395 city spellings, corrected 405 misspelled city names, shortened 7,528 ZIP codes, fixed 43 doubled addresses, added coordinates to 70,240 listings, added the county to 58,955 listings, flagged 204 incomplete addresses and measured 70,251 rows, and a fresh rebuild every week. The current file was rebuilt October 18, 2026 from tdlr.texas.gov. Doing it yourself means downloading the full release, repeating each of those steps, and repeating them again every time the source updates.

### How complete is each field?

Measured on every row of the current file, the share of rows that carry each key field: phone 100%, street address 100%, city 100%, state 100%, ZIP code 100%, latitude 100%, longitude 100%. 23 of 25 columns are filled on at least half the rows.
