There is no national registry of summer camps — the American Camp Association's directory is the closest thing, and it only covers camps that chose to list. This dataset starts from all 4,777 camps in the ACA Find a Camp directory (accredited and not — 2,301 carry current ACA accreditation) and layers on the KidsCamps and CampResource directories, merged on camp name and state, for 7,735 unique day and overnight camps across the United States and Canada. ACA-sourced records are the richest: street address, GPS coordinates, contact name, phone and email, director, operating organization, affiliation or religion, and every program with its day/overnight type, gender and, where the camp published it, age range and cost. Listings that exist only in KidsCamps or CampResource carry name, city and state, phone, website, camp type and, on CampResource, the camp's focus (sports, academic, arts, special needs) and tuition range. The sources column tells you which directories carry each camp, so you can restrict to ACA-listed camps, accredited camps, or overnight-only camps with a single filter. Buyers use this list to sell into camps (equipment, food service, insurance, software, staffing), to map youth-program density for site selection, and to prospect camp directors by email and phone. Refreshed weekly from the three directories.

## The figures

- Records: 7,722 locations
- States: 52
- Coverage: U.S. + Canada
- Fields: 31
- Price: $39 one-time, CSV download, commercial license (https://locationlists.com/license)
- File built on October 11, 2026. Rebuilt weekly on an automatic schedule.
- File last modified: 2026-10-11

The file has all 7,722 locations across 52 states in one download. Building the same list by searching one area at a time tends to miss places, and a missed place looks like a gap in coverage that is not really there.

## Questions

### Why merge three directories instead of using the ACA list alone?

Each directory is opt-in, so none is complete. The ACA directory has the deepest records (address, coordinates, contact email, programs) but skips many commercial day camps and sports camps; KidsCamps and CampResource pick up a large share of those. About 4% of camps appear in more than one directory, and for those the ACA record wins on address fields while the others fill blanks. The sources column shows exactly where each record came from.

### Does the list separate day camps from overnight (sleepaway) camps?

Yes. The campType column reads Day, Overnight, Overnight; Day, or Family or Adult, taken from the camp's program list in ACA or its listing category in KidsCamps and CampResource. Roughly a third of camps run both day and overnight programs. About 14% of records have no published camp type — most of those are sports or academic camps in CampResource that publish only a category.

### Which records have coordinates, email and street addresses?

Every ACA-sourced camp (about 60% of the file) carries GPS coordinates and a street address, and most carry a contact email and phone. Records that exist only in KidsCamps usually have a street address and phone but no email; CampResource-only records are city and state with phone, plus tuition and age range where the camp published them. Fill rates are printed on this page from the live file.

### Does this include YMCA camps, 4-H camps and church camps?

Yes where they are listed in the directories: the affiliation column names the sponsoring organization (YMCA, 4-H Clubs, JCC, denominations, Scouts) for ACA-listed camps. For a complete YMCA list use the separate YMCA Locations dataset, which comes from Y-USA's own locator and tags each YMCA camp.

### How is this data cleaned?

Every rebuild runs the same steps and counts what each one changed. For the current file, rebuilt October 11, 2026 from find.acacamps.org: Merged 0 duplicate listings that had the same business name, street address and ZIP code, keeping every filled-in detail from both (October 11, 2026). Unified 79 city names written more than one way within the same ZIP code (for example with and without a space or an abbreviation) to the US Census Bureau spelling (October 11, 2026). Corrected 18 misspelled city names to the US Census Bureau place name for their ZIP code (October 11, 2026). Shortened 3,959 ZIP codes to the five-digit code every address filter expects, keeping the delivery-route segment in a column of its own (October 11, 2026). Removed the second copy of 1 street addresses that were typed twice in the same field (October 11, 2026). Added map coordinates to 2,759 listings that had none, from the US Census Bureau address geocoder or, where the street address could not be matched, the centre of the ZIP code (October 11, 2026). Set the county and its federal county code on 7,460 listings, matched to the US Census Bureau county list from the county the source records, the listing's map point, or its ZIP code area (October 11, 2026). Checked every map point against the state in its address and re-placed 429 points that fell outside that state (October 11, 2026). Flagged 2,197 addresses that are incomplete, a PO box, or missing a house number, in an address quality column (October 11, 2026). Checked that the row count, state count and field completeness published for this file were measured from the file itself (October 11, 2026).

### Isn't this free on find.acacamps.org?

The underlying records are public on find.acacamps.org. What you pay for is the work between that public release and this file: unified 79 city spellings, corrected 18 misspelled city names, shortened 3,959 ZIP codes, fixed 1 doubled addresses, added coordinates to 2,759 listings, added the county to 7,460 listings, re-placed 429 misplaced map points, flagged 2,197 incomplete addresses and measured 7,722 rows, and a fresh rebuild every week. The current file was rebuilt October 11, 2026 from find.acacamps.org. Doing it yourself means downloading the full release, repeating each of those steps, and repeating them again every time the source updates.

### How complete is each field?

Measured on every row of the current file, the share of rows that carry each key field: email 40%, phone 78%, website 81%, street address 78%, city 100%, state 100%, ZIP code 79%, latitude 97%, longitude 97%. 22 of 31 columns are filled on at least half the rows.
