17,308 stores that carry Vital Farms pasture-raised eggs and butter, read every week from Vital Farms' own where-to-buy locator: the stores of the 42 retailers the locator covers, in all 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico, plus 7 Whole Foods stores in British Columbia. Walmart has 4,604 of them, Target 2,019, Publix 1,349, Kroger 1,244 and Food Lion 1,111; California has 1,810, Florida 1,474 and Texas 1,406. Each row gives the retailer, the locator's grocery or mass class for it, the store's name, the retailer's own store number and store page where the locator gives them, address, coordinates, phone, and every other field the locator returns.

The file has all 17,308 locations across 52 states in one download. Building the same list by searching one area at a time tends to miss places, and a missed place looks like a gap in coverage that is not really there.

Unified 204 city spellings, standardised 2,800 state codes, shortened 3,064 ZIP codes, added the county to 17,301 listings, flagged 34 incomplete addresses and measured 17,308 rows. Rebuilt October 11, 2026 from vitalfarms.com.

### What is in each row?

One store that Vital Farms' own locator lists as carrying Vital Farms: the retailer (Walmart, Target, Publix, Kroger...), the store's name and the retailer's store number, address, coordinates and phone. Each row is a store, not a Vital Farms location: Vital Farms does not run stores.

### How does the count compare with Vital Farms' own figure?

Vital Farms' 10-Q says more than 24,000 stores sold its products at 28 June 2026. This list has 17,308, 0.72 of that, because the locator covers 42 retailers only: Costco, Sam's Club, BJ's, Wegmans, Trader Joe's, Aldi and Harris Teeter are not in it.

### How complete is it?

The locator only answers "stores near here", so the whole U.S. is searched until every ZIP area sits inside a complete answer, and a search that hits the locator's result cap is asked again over a smaller area. After the run, 712 fresh searches at random points found no store missing from the file. It is every store Vital Farms's own locator lists; a store the locator leaves out is not in it.

### Why are there so many columns?

Because the file keeps every field the company's locator and location pages publish for each location, not a shortlist. A column the source fills for only some locations is still kept, and its fill is shown beside it on this page.

### How is this data cleaned?

Every rebuild runs the same steps and counts what each one changed. For the current file, rebuilt October 11, 2026 from vitalfarms.com: Merged 0 duplicate listings that had the same business name, street address and ZIP code, keeping every filled-in detail from both (October 11, 2026). Unified 204 city names written more than one way within the same ZIP code (for example with and without a space or an abbreviation) to the US Census Bureau spelling (October 11, 2026). Corrected 0 misspelled city names to the US Census Bureau place name for their ZIP code (October 11, 2026). Set the state on 2,800 listings to its two-letter US Postal Service code, matched to the US Census Bureau state register (or, for Canadian rows, the ISO province code) (October 11, 2026). Shortened 3,064 ZIP codes to the five-digit code every address filter expects, keeping the delivery-route segment in a column of its own (October 11, 2026). Added map coordinates to 0 listings that had none, from the US Census Bureau address geocoder or, where the street address could not be matched, the centre of the ZIP code (October 11, 2026). Set the county and its federal county code on 17,301 listings, matched to the US Census Bureau county list from the county the source records, the listing's map point, or its ZIP code area (October 11, 2026). Checked every map point against the state in its address and re-placed 0 points that fell outside that state (October 11, 2026). Flagged 34 addresses that are incomplete, a PO box, or missing a house number, in an address quality column (October 11, 2026). Checked that the row count, state count and field completeness published for this file were measured from the file itself (October 11, 2026).
