3,621 propane dealer locations across 50 states, with a street address and phone number on every record. It combines the national marketers' own branch networks — Suburban Propane 948, Ferrellgas 860, AmeriGas 712 — with 962 independent dealers carrying no national brand, plus regional operators such as ThompsonGas and Dead River and New Jersey's licensed-marketer register. Against an estimated 3,500 US retail propane marketers this is effectively full coverage, and the independents are the half that matters commercially: they are the acquisition targets and the ones with local buying authority. Propane is rural, fragmented and consolidating, and the independents that make up the remainder are largely invisible online with no national register to pull from, which is exactly why the chain footprint is the practical starting map. Tank, cylinder and equipment manufacturers, delivery-routing and tank-monitoring software vendors, and the acquirers rolling up regional dealers all use branch-level geography to plan territory and to see which markets the nationals already hold.

## The figures

- Records: 3,621 locations
- States: 50
- Coverage: U.S.
- Fields: 19
- Price: $29 one-time, CSV download, commercial license (https://locationlists.com/license)
- File built on September 14, 2026. Not on an automatic refresh schedule.
- File last modified: 2026-09-14

The file has all 3,621 locations across 50 states in one download. Building the same list by searching one area at a time tends to miss places, and a missed place looks like a gap in coverage that is not really there.

## Questions

### Does this include independent propane dealers?

Yes — 962 of these carry no national brand at all, which is the segment with local buying authority and the one acquirers are hunting. There is still no national register of propane dealers, so that portion is assembled rather than downloaded; treat it as the best available picture rather than a definitive count.

### Why does it matter which markets the nationals hold?

Because that is the consolidation map. If you are acquiring dealers, the nationals' branches tell you where competition for targets is fiercest. If you are selling equipment or software, they tell you which accounts are corporate decisions and which are still local.

### Are tank-exchange cages included?

No, deliberately. The cages outside supermarkets and hardware stores are a different business from a propane marketer with a bulk plant and a delivery fleet, and including them would have inflated the count with locations that buy nothing.
