This is the complete licensed universe of general and building contractors in Oregon, not a directory of the ones who chose to be listed: every active license the Oregon Construction Contractors Board publishes in its public extract, reduced to one row per licensed firm or individual at an address. 56,156 records. 45,776 records carry a separate business name from the licensed individual. Classifications in the file: Residential General Contractor (30,421), Residential Specialty Contractor (7,501), Commercial General Contractor Level 2 (5,492), Lead Based Paint Renovation Contractor (4,386). 8,205 licensees list an out-of-state address (contractors licensed in Oregon but based elsewhere); the state column identifies them so they are one filter to drop. Each record carries the state license number, so it joins cleanly to permit data, insurance certificates and other state files, and the expiration date, so you can target renewals. Buyers use it for distributor and manufacturer territory planning, dealer-program recruitment, insurance and financing prospecting, and roll-up sourcing in a fragmented trade. Association lists such as our ACCA member dataset cover the engaged slice; this covers everyone the state allows to pull a permit. Refreshed weekly from the board's extract.

## The figures

- Records: 45,776 locations
- States: 48
- Coverage: U.S.
- Fields: 22
- Price: $89 one-time, CSV download, commercial license (https://locationlists.com/license)
- File built on October 18, 2026. Rebuilt weekly on an automatic schedule.
- File last modified: 2026-10-18

The file has all 45,776 locations across 48 states in one download. Building the same list by searching one area at a time tends to miss places, and a missed place looks like a gap in coverage that is not really there.

## Questions

### Is this the same as the state's license lookup?

It is the same underlying data, taken from the board's bulk public extract rather than one-at-a-time lookups, and reshaped to one row per licensed firm or individual at an address with a trade column and a certified/registered class. The lookup shows one license at a time; this is all of them in one file, refreshed weekly.

### Does every record have a phone number and a business name?

Only where the board publishes them. State boards license the qualifying individual, and many file an individual name and address rather than a company name. The name column uses the business name when one is on file and the licensee otherwise; licenseeName always carries the individual. Phone is present only for boards that publish it.

### Why are some addresses outside Oregon?

Contractors can hold a Oregon license while being based in another state, common near state lines and for national firms. They are real Oregon licensees, so they are included, and the state column makes them a one-filter exclusion if you only want in-state locations.

### How is this data cleaned?

Every rebuild runs the same steps and counts what each one changed. For the current file, rebuilt October 18, 2026 from data.oregon.gov: Merged 0 duplicate listings that had the same business name, street address and ZIP code, keeping every filled-in detail from both (October 18, 2026). Unified 419 city names written more than one way within the same ZIP code (for example with and without a space or an abbreviation) to the US Census Bureau spelling (October 18, 2026). Corrected 268 misspelled city names to the US Census Bureau place name for their ZIP code (October 18, 2026). Set the state on 2 listings to its two-letter US Postal Service code, matched to the US Census Bureau state register (or, for Canadian rows, the ISO province code) (October 18, 2026). Shortened 2,047 ZIP codes to the five-digit code every address filter expects, keeping the delivery-route segment in a column of its own (October 18, 2026). Removed the second copy of 1 street addresses that were typed twice in the same field (October 18, 2026). Added map coordinates to 45,678 listings that had none, from the US Census Bureau address geocoder or, where the street address could not be matched, the centre of the ZIP code (October 18, 2026). Set the county and its federal county code on 37,867 listings, matched to the US Census Bureau county list from the county the source records, the listing's map point, or its ZIP code area (October 18, 2026). Checked every map point against the state in its address and re-placed 0 points that fell outside that state (October 18, 2026). Flagged 8,328 addresses that are incomplete, a PO box, or missing a house number, in an address quality column (October 18, 2026). Checked that the row count, state count and field completeness published for this file were measured from the file itself (October 18, 2026).

### Isn't this free on data.oregon.gov?

The underlying records are public on data.oregon.gov. What you pay for is the work between that public release and this file: unified 419 city spellings, corrected 268 misspelled city names, standardised 2 state codes, shortened 2,047 ZIP codes, fixed 1 doubled addresses, added coordinates to 45,678 listings, added the county to 37,867 listings, flagged 8,328 incomplete addresses and measured 45,776 rows, and a fresh rebuild every week. The current file was rebuilt October 18, 2026 from data.oregon.gov. Doing it yourself means downloading the full release, repeating each of those steps, and repeating them again every time the source updates.

### How complete is each field?

Measured on every row of the current file, the share of rows that carry each key field: phone 100%, street address 100%, city 100%, state 100%, ZIP code 100%, latitude 100%, longitude 100%. 20 of 22 columns are filled on at least half the rows.
