Canonical URL: https://locationlists.com/data/golf-course-list

14,897 US golf courses with a street address on every single record, a phone number on 98.8% and coordinates on 64.7%, plus the attributes that actually segment the market: access type (public, private or resort), number of holes, total yardage and par. Course-level attributes are what make this usable rather than just a list of names — turf equipment and irrigation manufacturers size territory by holes and access type, golf brands and distributors target public and resort courses differently from private clubs, and food service, cart, POS and tee-time vendors all qualify on the same fields. Golf real estate and site-selection analysts use course density as a demographic proxy in its own right. Compiled from the largest public course directory, cross-checked for US coverage, and refreshed weekly.

## The figures

- Records: 14,901 locations
- States: 51
- Coverage: U.S.
- Fields: 25
- Price: $49 one-time, CSV download, commercial license (https://locationlists.com/license)
- File built on October 11, 2026. Rebuilt weekly on an automatic schedule.
- File last modified: 2026-10-11

The file has all 14,901 locations across 51 states in one download. Building the same list by searching one area at a time tends to miss places, and a missed place looks like a gap in coverage that is not really there.

## What we did to this data

Unified 222 city spellings, corrected 3 misspelled city names, shortened 13,269 ZIP codes, added coordinates to 5,257 listings, added the county to 14,901 listings, re-placed 23 misplaced map points, flagged 323 incomplete addresses and measured 14,901 rows. Rebuilt October 11, 2026 from golflink.com.

## How complete the key fields are

phone 99%, street address 100%, city 100%, state 100%, ZIP code 100%, latitude 100%, longitude 100%. 24 of 25 columns are filled on at least half the rows.

## Questions

### Does it say whether a course is public or private?

Yes, in the accessType column, along with resort courses. That single field is usually the first filter buyers apply, because the purchasing process at a private club is nothing like a municipal course.

### Are 9-hole and executive courses included?

Yes, with the hole count on each record so you can filter. Excluding them would misrepresent the market: short and 9-hole courses are a large share of US facilities and a real segment for equipment and maintenance suppliers.

### How accurate is the count against industry figures?

Industry bodies count roughly 14,901 US golf facilities, and a facility can hold more than one course. This file is 14,897 DISTINCT courses. The directory publishes 17,358 US course pages, but 2,461 of those are the same physical course listed under several URLs — often with slightly different coordinates — so they are collapsed to one row each, keeping the richest record of the group rather than the first one seen. That leaves the count a little under the facility figure rather than over it, because the directory is commercial rather than a licensing body and does not carry every private or military course. A small number of recently closed courses may also persist; we flag that rather than claim a precision the source cannot support.

### How is this data cleaned?

Every rebuild runs the same steps and counts what each one changed. For the current file, rebuilt October 11, 2026 from golflink.com: Merged 0 duplicate listings that had the same business name, street address and ZIP code, keeping every filled-in detail from both (October 11, 2026). Unified 222 city names written more than one way within the same ZIP code (for example with and without a space or an abbreviation) to the US Census Bureau spelling (October 11, 2026). Corrected 3 misspelled city names to the US Census Bureau place name for their ZIP code (October 11, 2026). Shortened 13,269 ZIP codes to the five-digit code every address filter expects, keeping the delivery-route segment in a column of its own (October 11, 2026). Added map coordinates to 5,257 listings that had none, from the US Census Bureau address geocoder or, where the street address could not be matched, the centre of the ZIP code (October 11, 2026). Set the county and its federal county code on 14,901 listings, matched to the US Census Bureau county list from the county the source records, the listing's map point, or its ZIP code area (October 11, 2026). Checked every map point against the state in its address and re-placed 23 points that fell outside that state (October 11, 2026). Flagged 323 addresses that are incomplete, a PO box, or missing a house number, in an address quality column (October 11, 2026). Checked that the row count, state count and field completeness published for this file were measured from the file itself (October 11, 2026).

### Isn't this free on golflink.com?

The underlying records are public on golflink.com. What you pay for is the work between that public release and this file: unified 222 city spellings, corrected 3 misspelled city names, shortened 13,269 ZIP codes, added coordinates to 5,257 listings, added the county to 14,901 listings, re-placed 23 misplaced map points, flagged 323 incomplete addresses and measured 14,901 rows, and a fresh rebuild every week. The current file was rebuilt October 11, 2026 from golflink.com. Doing it yourself means downloading the full release, repeating each of those steps, and repeating them again every time the source updates.

### How complete is each field?

Measured on every row of the current file, the share of rows that carry each key field: phone 99%, street address 100%, city 100%, state 100%, ZIP code 100%, latitude 100%, longitude 100%. 24 of 25 columns are filled on at least half the rows.
