9,116 licensed cannabis retail dispensaries across 20 legal states, filtered from the state regulators' own license registers so every one is a currently licensed retailer rather than a directory listing. Dispensaries are the consumer-facing end of the industry and the highest-value target for point-of-sale and payments vendors, security and cash-handling services, packaging, signage and fixtures, delivery platforms, and brands seeking shelf placement. They are also the license class most likely to carry a real premises address, since a retail store has to be findable, which makes this the most complete and most usable cut of the license data. Refreshed weekly, with license number, status, market type and the state's own license label on every record.

## The figures

- Records: 9,111 locations (9,100 US)
- States: 19
- Coverage: partial U.S.: 19 states
- Fields: 23
- Price: $39 one-time, CSV download, commercial license (https://locationlists.com/license)
- File built on September 15, 2026. Rebuilt weekly on an automatic schedule.
- File last modified: 2026-09-15

The file has all 9,111 locations across 19 states in one download. Building the same list by searching one area at a time tends to miss places, and a missed place looks like a gap in coverage that is not really there.

## Questions

### Is this different from the dispensary finders consumers use?

Yes, fundamentally. Consumer finders list dispensaries that pay to be listed or that claimed a profile. This is the regulator's license register, so it includes the stores that do no marketing at all, and it excludes listings for stores that have closed or lost their license.

### Does it separate medical from adult-use?

Yes, in the market column: adult-use, medical, or both. Several states license the two separately and a store may hold one or both.

### Why only 19 states?

Those are the legal states whose regulators publish a machine-readable register. Some publish only PDFs and some publish nothing. We name the covered states rather than claiming national coverage.
