13,813 US brewery locations merged from the Brewers Association's own member directory and the Open Brewery DB registry, with a street address on 96%, coordinates on 93%, a phone on 86% and a website on 79%. The type column separates microbreweries, brewpubs, regional and large breweries, contract and proprietor arrangements, taprooms and satellite locations, and in-planning sites — which matters, because the widely quoted figure of roughly 9,700 US breweries counts production breweries only. Filter this file to production sites and it returns 9,483, right on that number; the larger headline count includes the taprooms and satellite locations that are separate physical places a supplier still has to serve. Ingredient and equipment suppliers, packaging and canning vendors, distributors and importers, POS and hospitality software companies, and anyone mapping the craft beer market work from this.

Unified 226 city spellings, corrected 12 misspelled city names, shortened 7,042 ZIP codes, added coordinates to 1,055 listings, added the county to 13,796 listings, re-placed 9 misplaced map points, flagged 632 incomplete addresses and measured 13,813 rows. Rebuilt October 18, 2026 from brewersassociation.org.

### Why 13,952 when the industry says about 9,700 breweries?

Because that figure counts production breweries and this file also carries taprooms, satellite locations and in-planning sites, each flagged in the type column. Filter to production types and you get 9,483, which lines up with the Brewers Association. We would rather give you both and let you choose than quietly pick one definition.

### Which sources is this built from?

The Brewers Association's own directory, which carries membership status and craft-brewery designation, merged with Open Brewery DB, an open registry. 5,036 breweries appear in both and were matched on name and state; the rest come from one or the other, so the merged file is materially more complete than either source alone.

### Do you have wineries and distilleries too?

Yes, both are separate datasets built the same way, with the federal permit register as the backbone.

### How is this data cleaned?

Every rebuild runs the same steps and counts what each one changed. For the current file, rebuilt October 18, 2026 from brewersassociation.org: Merged 0 duplicate listings that had the same business name, street address and ZIP code, keeping every filled-in detail from both (October 18, 2026). Unified 226 city names written more than one way within the same ZIP code (for example with and without a space or an abbreviation) to the US Census Bureau spelling (October 18, 2026). Corrected 12 misspelled city names to the US Census Bureau place name for their ZIP code (October 18, 2026). Shortened 7,042 ZIP codes to the five-digit code every address filter expects, keeping the delivery-route segment in a column of its own (October 18, 2026). Added map coordinates to 1,055 listings that had none, from the US Census Bureau address geocoder or, where the street address could not be matched, the centre of the ZIP code (October 18, 2026). Set the county and its federal county code on 13,796 listings, matched to the US Census Bureau county list from the county the source records, the listing's map point, or its ZIP code area (October 18, 2026). Checked every map point against the state in its address and re-placed 9 points that fell outside that state (October 18, 2026). Flagged 632 addresses that are incomplete, a PO box, or missing a house number, in an address quality column (October 18, 2026). Checked that the row count, state count and field completeness published for this file were measured from the file itself (October 18, 2026).
